Ignat also known as AngelNotes is an electronic dance music artist based in Portland, Oregon, where his journey began at the age of sixteen. From a young age, he was captivated by the power of music, but it was in 1996 that he discovered electronic dance music (EDM) and felt a spark that would ignite his creative path. He was influenced by groundbreaking artists like Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, The Crystal Method, The Chemical Brothers, and DJ Irene, he became inspired to craft his own unique sound.

Each track I produce is a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the belief that music has the power to inspire change and bring people together.

While he once dreamed of pursuing a career in Hollywood as an actor, life took him in a different direction. Instead of stepping onto film sets or even anything else, he found his true calling in the vibrant world of music. The thrill of creating beats and melodies became a driving force in his life, allowing him to connect with people through the universal language of sound.

Ignat’s journey is an inspiring tale of resilience and creativity, characterized by pivotal moments that have shaped him into a remarkable artist. Born in the vibrant city of Moscow, Russia, he experienced a life-altering event in 1993 when he tragically lost his father. This profound loss was not only a personal tragedy but also a turning point that prompted his family to make the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States, where they sought new opportunities and the chance for a brighter future filled with possibilities.

At the age of 12, Ignat received his first synthesizer, a life-changing gift that ignited an intense passion for music within him. This powerful instrument opened the door to a vast universe of sound, inviting him to explore diverse musical styles and genres. Without the benefit of formal training, he immersed himself in self-directed study, spending countless hours experimenting with melodies and harmonies. Each note he played was a step toward unlocking his unique artistic identity, allowing his creativity to flourish through the compositions that emerged from his heart and mind.

As Ignat navigated his teenage years, he cultivated a profound appreciation for the nuances of music harmony. He dedicated himself to mastering the art of chord progression, skillfully blending in harmony as one in three to four chords and notes to create rich, resonant compositions that conveyed deep emotions and stories. This ability to weave intricate melodies became a defining hallmark of his musical style, allowing him to transform his personal experiences into evocative pieces that resonated with audiences on a profound level.

Despite facing numerous challenges—ranging from adjusting to a new culture and language to overcoming personal struggles—Ignat remained steadfast in his commitment to music. He embraced these obstacles as opportunities for growth, embodying the belief that perseverance can lead to significant accomplishments.

In 2024, he proudly released  album, “AngelNotes: Reborn,” which delved into themes of rebirth, resilience, and hope. This album featured dynamic rhythms and evocative lyrics, offering an emotional journey that reflects universal human experiences. Currently, Ignat is passionately working on his next album, scheduled for release in 2025, where he seeks to introduce innovative sounds, unique collaborations, and fresh artistic concepts that will further engage and inspire his audience.
